Batman Versus Superman: The Yawn of Justice

Batman Versus Superman: The Yawn of Justice

Yes, you read that right. It was precisely a yawning good time for almost three hours in the theater.

After a two year hiatus from the first Movie by Zack Snyder, I thought we were in for another treat when news of the release of Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice broke on local news in Singapore.

I had to watch this! What happened after General Zodd died, what happened to all the technology that they brought in their ship, Black Zero, and the world engine that they attempted to destroy earth with?

The show started with scenes of the fight between Superman and General Zodd. Down on Earth below, Bruce Wayne, was busy driving around attempting to save his staff from his building when he came to realization that the ones wreaking havoc was the Kryptonians above. This was the point where the Batman had a new interest on exacting justice on the Kryptonians.

First impressions last. Opening scene to me was adequately nice to me, a DC comics fan. But to my girlfriend, it was seriously a goner!!! She was even put to yawns one too many times throughout the movie.

First hour and a half was practically talking and talking, it went on from how Bruce Wayne became the Bats, how Metropolis and Gotham interconnected etc.

This was supposed to be an action movie Zack Snyder!!! Not a talking point movie! What a waste for my Good Friday evening!

For fans of Man of Steel, I’m pretty sure that you’ll agree with me that this movie was let down right? I even dragged my girlfriend to watch the movie with me and it was a bad gamble!! She had never watched any movies like these before and it just spoiled for her. Fabulous! Bargh.

Anyway, pundits like me may be hammering how awful this movie may have been, particularly that it was more talking than action—- but there was a glimmer of hope in this though! Wonderwoman. DC fans, rejoice!

The introduction of WonderWoman in this movie may arise other critiques as well. In this movie, Zack Snyder and his team portrayed that WonderWoman was a meta-human. Perhaps it would be true, but, there was NO mention about her being an amazonian, or that she came from a world where there were other similar meta-humans like her. And that WonderWoman was a part of four other meta-humans, namely Cyborg, the Flash, and another one that I can’t recall.

Now, that’s something for a teaser for the next movie aye! My take on this? Zack Snyder is gunning for the creation of the Justice League!!
